About John

John Morey is the author of Blood Hound, a former professional editor, an amateur historian, and photographer. He uses his lifelong love of mythology and unusual wit to craft a unique take on urban fantasy noir. Born in Pennsylvania and raised on a steady diet of monsters, he now lives in the Bay Area, where there are even bigger monsters. It’s pretty much always about the monsters.

John writes occasional articles at Nerditis, has written for Poe Ghostal and Captain Toy’s Reviews, contributed to the 2007 Welebaethan Historical Journal, was once a typist in the same building where Dashiel Hammett worked for the Pinkertons, and maintains an extensive yet bizarre photography account at Flickr.

He also once educated a church on Ninkasi worship, drunk-dialed Gary Gygax, and learned the hard way that silly putty breaks windows. John Stossel once called him “the toughest guy in New York” (long story. It involved a puppy, lots of snow, and Grandma). But really, it’s all about the monsters.
